Waving In The Water

Have you ever enjoyed boat-riding or looking for a chance to experience it? Ok, then visit the Udaipur city of Rajasthan which is home to beautiful Lake Pichola. In addition to its picturesque beauty, Lake Pichola offers excellent opportunity for boat riding. Luckily on my last vacation I got a chance to visit the ‘city of lake,’ Udaipur and enjoyed the boat ride across the lake Pichola.

A unique creation of later mediaeval period, Pichola Lake exposes the juxtaposition of artistic skill as well as the smack of royal grandeur of the then rulers. One of the prime attractions of Udaipur, Lake Pichola was built by Maharana Udai Singh II. Craddled amongst hills, gardens, havelis, temples and ghats, Lake Pichola is a picturesque spotlight of Udaipur. Besides, the Lake Palace (Jagniwas) and Jagmandir, the biggest temple of Udaipur situated in the middle of lake enhance the beauty of the lake many times.

At the time of sunrise and sunset, the beauty of the lake is unfolded with magnificent natural escapes. As I reached close to Pichola Lake its scenic beauty spellbound me at once. Next, I hired a boat and started my boat trip along the serene water of the lake. As long as I paddled in the water, I felt that I have been transferred to a world of fun and enjoyment.

While enjoying the boat trip in Lake Pichola, I also got a chance to visit the Lake Palace and Jagmandir Temple. First, I sailed to the Lake Palace situated at the centre of the lake. Lake Palace was built by Maharaja Jagat Singh and entirely coloured as white as milk. After exploring the every nook and corner of the palace, next I proceeded towards Jagmandir temple. When I reached inside the temple complex, it seemed that Lord Vishnu really resides here in the temple that emanates out from the water.

My guide told me the fact that it was built by Maharana Karan Singh in 1622 AD. He mentioned the interesting fact that Jagmandir was the inspiration to Mughal Emperor, Shahjahan for his wonderous creation, Taj Mahal. After spending few hours in the temple, again I started my boat trip. The calm waves, the cool touches, the tranquil atmosphere and the unique sound of the boat as it moved in the water enchanted me a lot. Even today, I can feel the thrilling experience of boat riding in Lake Pichola than I can never forget.

Frankly speaking, a lake was just a lake for me, but untill I saw the picture on your blog. The monument painted in white...placed in the heart of the lake really fascinated me. I will visit the place for sure during my next trip to India.

Lake Pichola of Udaipur, no doubt, is a unique place for tourists to experience a thrilling boat cruise on the lake. It is more splendid for the presence of Lake Palace – Jagniwas at the middle of the lake. I congratulate u for making such a nice page. After going through the page, I now want to be there.

Informative, well presented but alas, least attractive. Blogs are meant for informal write ups unless u write it to deepen ur pockets. The information is in a very textual method, it would be expected in more casual way, full of anecdotes rather stress on flowery languages.
